Please read the terms of this policy carefully before using the Platform.
What's in this policy?
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the content standards and behavioural requirements that apply when you use GemForge Labs (the "Platform"), upload content, interact with other users, or otherwise engage with our services. This policy forms part of our Terms of Use and should be read alongside them.
Acceptance of this policy
By using the Platform, you confirm that you accept the terms of this policy and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Platform.
Changes to this policy
GemForge reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Platform following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
Prohibited uses
You may not use the Platform:
- In any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation.
- In any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or that has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
- For the purpose of harming or attempting to harm minors in any way.
- To bully, insult, intimidate or humiliate any person.
- To transmit any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material, or any other form of spam.
- To knowingly transmit any data or upload any material containing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
- To upload, share or distribute terrorist content or material that promotes, glorifies or facilitates acts of terrorism or political violence.
- To upload, share or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors.
- To share solutions, flags, or write-ups for active content, whether publicly or privately with other users who have not individually participated in solving them.
- To attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, its infrastructure, or other users' accounts.
- To use the Platform to attack, exploit or compromise systems, networks or services that you do not have explicit written permission to test.
- To use knowledge or skills developed on the Platform for any unlawful, malicious or harmful purpose outside of the Platform.
You also agree:
- Not to reproduce, duplicate, copy or re-sell any part of the Platform in contravention of our Terms of Use.
- Not to access without authority, interfere with, damage or disrupt any part of the Platform, any equipment or network on which the Platform is stored, any software used in the provision of the Platform, or any equipment, network or software owned or used by any third party.
- Not to use automated tools, bots, scripts or similar methods to interact with the Platform except where expressly permitted.
- Not to impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organisation.
Lab and challenge rules
GemForge Labs provides controlled environments for cybersecurity education and training. In addition to the general prohibited uses above, when using lab environments and challenges you agree to:
- Only target systems, machines and services within the lab environment explicitly assigned to you or designated as fair game.
- Not attempt to attack, pivot to, or interfere with GemForge's infrastructure, other users' lab instances, or any external systems.
- Not share flags, solutions or write-ups for active content with other users or publicly online.
- Not use the lab environment to store, distribute or execute malicious code intended for use outside the Platform.
- Report any unintended vulnerabilities or misconfigurations in the Platform itself to GemForge responsibly via [email protected] rather than exploiting them.
Content standards
These standards apply to any material you contribute to the Platform, including forum posts, challenge submissions, writeups, profile content, or any other user-generated content.
A contribution must:
- Be accurate where it states facts.
- Be genuinely held where it states opinions.
- Comply with applicable law.
A contribution must not:
- Be defamatory of any person.
- Be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory.
- Bully, insult, intimidate or humiliate any person.
- Promote sexually explicit material.
- Include or link to child sexual abuse material.
- Promote or glorify violence, terrorism or extremism.
- Promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
- Infringe any copyright, database right or trade mark of any other person.
- Be likely to deceive any person.
- Breach any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence.
- Promote any illegal content or activity.
- Be threatening, abusive or likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person.
- Contain unsolicited advertising or promote any commercial services or products.
- Contain any statement that could be understood as encouragement or incitement to commit acts of terrorism.
Interactive services and community features
GemForge may provide interactive features such as community forums, Discord integration, messaging, or other collaborative tools. When using these features:
- You are responsible for any content you post or share.
- GemForge may moderate these services but does not guarantee that all content will be reviewed.
- Moderation is not foolproof and GemForge accepts no liability for user-generated content that does not comply with this policy.
Use of any interactive services by a minor is subject to the consent of their parent or guardian. Parents who permit their children to use the Platform should communicate with them about online safety.
Responsible disclosure
If you discover a security vulnerability in the Platform itself, you agree to report it responsibly to GemForge at [email protected] before any public disclosure. GemForge will acknowledge valid reports and work to remediate issues in a timely manner. We ask that you give us reasonable time to address the issue before any public disclosure.
Breach of this policy
When GemForge considers that a breach of this policy has occurred, we may take such action as we deem appropriate, including:
- Immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your right to use the Platform.
- Immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any content uploaded by you.
- Issue of a formal warning.
- Legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of all costs resulting from the breach.
- Further legal action against you.
- Disclosure of information to law enforcement authorities as reasonably necessary or required by law.
GemForge excludes liability for all action taken in response to breaches of this policy. The actions listed above are not exhaustive and GemForge may take any other action it reasonably deems appropriate.
Governing law
This policy, its subject matter and its formation are governed by the laws of the Republic of Seychelles. Any disputes arising in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Seychelles, in accordance with our Terms of Use.
